3 Years. Course commences in February and July each year. Students may also commence the Diploma of Hospitality (Management) in October.
Description
Holmesglen Institute in association with Charles Sturt University offers international students the opportunity to enrol in their Bachelor of Hotel Management in Melbourne. The Bachelor of Hotel Management is a composite course made up of an 18 month Diploma of Hospitality (Management) followed by the completion of 11 Charles Sturt University degree units undertaken over a further 18 months. Students complete the degree within three years and receive two qualifications.
Students who complete specialisations of the Diploma of Hospitality (Management) such as Asian Cookery, Bakery, Culinary, or Patisserie are also eligible to enter this program.Students completing these specialistions will take 3.5 years to complete the diploma and degree

Prerequisites
FOR THE DIPLOMA: Year 12/Matriculation OR good passes at Year 11 (Form 5) levels studies PLUS relevant employment experience.
English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5, ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 530 (Paper based), TOEFL 197 (Computer based) or equivalent.
FOR THE DEGREE: Satisfactory completion of the Diploma of Hospitality (Management).
Tuition
For 2007: $9,400 per year for the first 1.5 years and $11,000 for the final 1.5 years.
Students starting this course from one of the specialisations of the Diploma of Hospitality (Management) should refer to the individual diploma for the cost of the course at diploma level.
Assessment Methods
FOR THE DIPLOMA: Assessment is based on competency ie the ability to perform specific skills and is done through a combination of observation, discussion, written assignments, tests, examinations, and/or practical application/work related projects.
FOR THE DEGREE: Assessment is based on written assignments, tests and examinations.
Teaching Methods
Supervised classroom learning. Supervised practical components. Work experience/practical placements. Lectures.
Course Outcomes
At the end of three years of study, students will have achieved a Diploma of Hospitality (Management) from Holmesglen and a Bachelor of Hotel Management awarded by Charles Sturt University.
